Community outreach programs range in size and scope but almost always produce the same results, spreading good throughout a community. Astor participates in the following community outreach programs:
Astor actively provides opportunities to high school and college students to intern with our company. Our interns gain experience, develop skills, make connections, strengthen their resumes, learn about a field, and assess their interest and abilities. Astor also offers paid internships, facilitating a more positive future for economically disadvantaged youths. Through our internship program, we reach out to local schools and universities to encourage successful careers.
Adopting Families for the Holidays
Astor’s Adopt a Family for the Holiday’s program was set up to assist especially needy families. We partner with Stepping Stones Shelter (SSS) to sponsor a family for the holidays, providing food at Thanksgiving and gifts at Christmas. We continuously contribute financial donations every year to help families in need during the holiday season and donate gifts for needy children of all ages in the community.
Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive
For over 45 years, the City of Rockville has sponsored outreach that brings the community together each Thanksgiving to provide food baskets and gift certificates to needy Rockville families all November. Astor employees come together every year to hold a canned food drive in support the City of Rockville. We help provide healthy food for families in need.
Toys for Tots
Every year, Astor partners with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s premier community action program, to bring joy to less fortunate children across the country this holiday season, by collecting and distributing toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
Also, Astor has participated in community outreach programs to include the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organization, Project Hope, Ekal Vidyala Foundation, American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, AFCEA, and CARE.
